Vertical Landscape

Vertical Landscape was created for the US Embassy in Kabul Afghanistan. The 24-foot tall cut-canvas painting hangs on a two story stonewall within the embassy, and was designed to be read from bottom to top. The painting contains references to the natural resources and beauty of Afghanistan, overlaid and intertwined with geometric patterns referencing the architecture and textiles of the Muslim world.

Commissioned by the US Department of Art in Embassies, 2015.
