Kedzie Jewel transforms the original Chicago Transit Authority’s Kedzie Green Line Station into a space of color. Replacing 44 of the original clear windows with panes of glass the color of sunsets and summer days energizes the outdoor platforms and renews the architecture throughout the shifting light of the day and seasons. Seen from the street, the station becomes a beacon of light, while riders in the station see a neighborhood and themselves washed in kaleidoscopic color.
